THE FINE MALLARD

    There once was duck, a mallard with fine emerald and sapphire coloring, which loved grapes, so he waddled down to the local tavern.  He leaped upon the counter and quacked “I want to buy some grapes.”  The bartender, a balding fellow with unkempt sideburns and a poor disposition, replied, “Sorry sir, we don’t have any grapes.”  The very next day, the duck returned to the tavern and leaped once more onto the counter and squawked, “Hey, do you have any grapes.”  Angered, the bartender replied, “We don’t sell grapes.”  The third day, the duck flew down to the local tavern, landed upon the counter under a sign, which read “No ducks Allowed”, and screeched, “Hey, do you have any grapes.”  Infuriated, the bartender replied, “No, we don’t sell grapes and if you come back here again I’ll nail your feet to this counter!”  On the fourth day, the duck strolled down to the local tavern hopped upon the counter, yawned, and queried, “Hey, do you have any nails?”  The bartender replied, “No we don’t have any nails”.  The duck then responded, “Good, do you have any grapes?”

 

    There are many conclusions we could find within this story.  However, the point I would like to bring out concerns the fruits of our labor resulting in success.  Our fine-feathered friend obviously had a passion for grapes and he vigorously pursued his goal.  What are the fruits of your labor?  Drudging through ten grueling speeches, balancing our busy workloads, not to mention life it self.  Maintaining the patient to handle the potential stress created by such a full schedule.  Utilizing persistence as a vehicle can ensure the CTM is within reach.  Did our mallard with fine emerald and sapphire coloring get those grapes?  See my next article!
